Aknot was an aged Mangalore mercenary who worked for Jean-Baptiste Zorg.
Biography[]
Aknot was the leader of the Mangalore Mercenaries in 2263. Brutish and sadistic, he was nonetheless far more patient and intelligent than his army of dimwitted men. Aknot and his team were hired by Zorg to destroy a Mondoshawan ship heading for Earth so they could steal the Elemental Stones from its wreckage which Zorg desperately desired for his client Mr. Shadow, in exchange for several crates of Zorg's ZF-1 Pod Weapon. When they retrieved the chest containing the stones though, it was empty but Aknot insisted his team be payed anyway, "We risked our lives. I believe a little compensation is in order!" Zorg agreed and gave him one caseload of ZF1s. However all of Aknot's party but him were killed when an overly curious Mangalore activated his ZF1's self-destruct button, blowing them all up.
Badly injured, Aknot vowed revenge on Zorg, placing his second in command Akanit in charge while he recovered. The Mangalores planned to go to Fhloston Paradise to steal the sacred stones from the Diva Plavalaguna in order to blackmail Zorg. When the attack on Fhloston went sour thanks to the intervention of Korben Dallas and Leeloo, Aknot was forced to take command of his team again and held Father Vito Cornelius hostage in the ship's control room. He then demanded a negotiator but Dallas responded by entering and shooting Aknot in the forehead, killing him instantly. His remains would later be destroyed along with the rest of the ship after Akanit activated a mini-nuke in order to exact revenge on Zorg who was also on the ship.
Trivia[]
- In the original script, Aknot does not go with Aknit and the other Mangalores to Fhloston Paradise as he was too injured.
