Kodar Japhet is the name of the planet ruled by an emperor who is also named Kodar Japhet. His daughter, Princess Achen, is in attendance with him. They are two of several exalted persons that Ruby Rhod points out to Korben Dallas in the opera hall as he escorts Korben to their front row seats for the diva's performance aboard the cruise ship Fhloston Paradise in the skies above of Fhloston.
The emperor and his daughter appear to have an Oriental ancestry based on their appearance and manner of dress, suggesting the planet was settled by colonists from Eastern Asia on Earth.
Ruby has a recording of Princess Achen 'singing' her pleasure. He plays a teaser for Korben with the promise of playing the entire recording for his listeners later.
