Zorg Industries

Zorg Industries is a futuristic weapons manufacturer and megacorporation headed by Jean-Baptiste Zorg which holds tremendous economic influence within the Council of Federated Territories.

Description[]

Zorg Industries

The Zorg Industries main building

Zorg Industries is renowned for its weapons catalog but also has investments in other business ventures from shipping to taxi services.

Its influence within the economy of the Federated Territories (which has a population of 200 billion) is so great that council members have to rely on Zorg Industries to lay off employees (which number in the billions) from one of its smaller companies just to help keep the Federation’s economy from collapsing.

History[]

Foundation and Mr. Shadow[]

At an unknown point within his 39 years of life, Jean-Baptiste Zorg founded (or inherited, this fact is unknown) his namesake company Zorg Industries which quickly rose into a multinational corporate superpower within the Federation and a linchpin within its economy, even firing millions of employees whenever the need arose. It was at some point during Mr. Zorg's 39th year that he had been contacted by a malicious entity calling itself "Mr. Shadow" which sought to use Zorg's influence in order to stop the gathering of the Five Elements. Mr. Shadow promised Zorg all the fortune he could desire if he used the vast resources and thugs at his company's disposal to retrieve the elemental stones and kill anyone who threatened Mr. Shadow's plan, otherwise he would kill Zorg himself should he fail.

Downfall of Zorg[]

As the Fifth Element Incident drew near, Mr. Zorg sought out a priest from the 50th-Level Parish while posing as an art collector in order to learn as much as he could about the stones. Once he did, he orchestrated the assassination of the Mondoshawan representatives, the keepers of the elements upon their return to Earth in hopes of salvaging the stones from their wreckage, but when his Mangalore mercenaries returned he found the container for the stones empty, forcing him to kill his incompetent mercs for their failure and take more drastic actions.

Zorg eventually learned that the stones were in the hands of Diva Plavalaguna who was on her way to Fhloston Paradise, and so planned to have his Right Arm henchman steal the identity of his former employee Korben Dallas after Zorg learned that Dallas won a free trip there and was even escorting the living Fifth Element Leeloo as well, but after his Right Arm failed to secure Korben's identity, he was promptly executed after Mr. Shadow reminded Zorg that his patience was running thin, forcing Zorg to go to Fhloston Paradise himself.

To his misfortune though, he found that his former mercenaries survived and sought revenge against their former employer, eventually leading to a confrontation that ended with all of them destroying each other with a molecular bomb, much to Zorg's horror as the suicidal Mangalores smiled triumphantly at all of their deaths.

Legacy[]

With the death of Mr. Zorg and his involvement in the murder of the Mondoshawans and many others presumably being exposed, the final fate of Zorg Industries or whether a new CEO was appointed to better handle the company remains uncertain.

Staff[]

CEO[]

Look at all these little things. So busy now. Notice how each one is useful. What a lovely ballet ensues, so full of form and color. Now, think about all those people that created them. Technicians, engineers, hundreds of people who'll be able to feed their children tonight so those children can grow up big and strong and have little teeny weeny children of their own, and so on and so forth. Thus, adding to the great chain…of life. - Jean-Baptiste Zorg
Gary Oldman (Zorg)
